Physical Therapy at Advanced Healthcare Associates
At Advanced Healthcare Associates, we believe in offering a variety of different services to help our patients achieve whole-body health. That’s why we’re proud to incorporate physical therapy into the practice–in fact, we believe that physical therapy and chiropractic care go hand in hand, and often recommend it to all of our patients.
Why It’s Important
Over the course of our lives, our spine really experiences a lot of wear and tear. Over time, muscles become chronically tight, which causes them to shorten and pull on different areas. As you can imagine, that’s a recipe for disaster–and pain.
Physical therapy helps to undo the trauma that our muscles, joints and bones have experienced over the years and allows us to regain proper posture.
Physical therapy focuses on rehabilitating weak muscles so they can lengthen again and function normally.
Physical therapy can help with a host of problems, including but not limited to:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches
- Joint and muscle tension
- Shoulder issues
- And more
Focused, Gentle Techniques
In addition to giving patients custom exercises and stretches to focus on their specific problems, we also have a few other techniques we like to incorporate into care.
ARP machine: Allows us to strengthen muscles that are chronically injured, like elbows, hips, ankles, back, and more. The ARP machine works by creating 500 pulses per second that are focused into the muscles–a traditional machine can do just 30! Over a series of visits, patients go through sessions and focus on weakened muscles to help get it back to proper function. Patients often noticed decreased pain, increased circulation, and less muscle spasm.
Ultrasound Technique: This involves using focused, gentle sound waves to penetrate deep tissue and breakup adhesions, allowing them to heal. Several sessions are typically recommended. Ultrasound visits are absolutely pain free!
Graston Technique: Using a handheld tool, we gently do soft-tissue work to focus on increased mobilization.
